The Libertarian Party of St. Charles County is an affiliate of The Libertarian Party of Missouri that aims to spread the ideas of lower taxes, smaller government, and expose corruption. We believe in individual freedom and personal responsibility. Our mission is to promote the values of the Libertarian Party in St. Charles County and beyond. Against Government Surveillance
St. Charles County and the cities within have adopted a policy of erecting cameras to monitor where everyone in the county is going, and log their info into a database. Government agencies are using drones to monitor for city and county ordinance violations.
Not only are these systems and technologies ripe for abuse by officers and officials, they are the groundwork for an Orwellian-style suveillance state to be used against the people.
The Libertarian Party of St. Charles County is active in the fight to remove these Automatic License Plate Reader Cameras, as well as any other government spying apparatus and will support measures to limit government's ability to spy on citizens without a warrant.
Lowering Taxes
The Libertarian Party of St. Charles County is against any and all unnecessary taxes that go beyond protecting the inalienable rights of all citizens.
We are fighting against taxes within the county including the "Business Personal Property Tax" where small businesses have to pay taxes on items like couches and chairs that they keep in their offices and waiting areas! It is outrageous!
We are also fighting against unconstitutional taxes at the state level, including the gas tax increase of 2021, that the voters never approved.

Free-Market Economy
The best, most flourishing parts of our economy are those not hindered by government interference. A true free-market economy based on supply and demand creates the most fair and balanced system. Government intervention in the form of regulation and subsidies often benefits large corporations at the expense of competition and value to the consumer. As Libertarians, we will fight to reduce the dirty hands of government in our economy.
